Right then. We need posts and we need people. As such, I encourage everyone to post and/or advertise whenever they have free time and internet access. Now then, some incentives:
The first member to get over 1,000 posts, save for myself, will become the king of threads, and have honorary access to the staff discussion forum.
The second member to get 15 members to come who each have over 100 posts, save again for myself, will become the propaganda czar, get and honorary staff forum access.
The first good debater we find who posts a lot in the serious discussion forum will be given the option to control an official site group, named Debaters, with a free discussion forum, and, you guessed it, honorary staff forum access.
Similarly to the above, the first good writer we find will be allowed to head the Writers group and its discussion forum, and also have honorary staff forum access.
Again similarly, the first good artist we find will be given the chance to head the Artists group and its own discussion forum, and have honorary staff forum access.
And some suggestions:
When advertising, pick active sites that allow advertising, and speak of the site in an exceptional light. People probably won't even click the link if they think we're a dead site. We need to capture the attention of our audience. A good way to get people here is to contact friends personally, via PM on some site or e-mail, as well. They know you and trust you, at least to some extent, so they're more likely to come here and start posting if you ask them nicely. Lastly, sharing this site on social networking sites is very easy, and will really help.
Don't just post in existing threads. Make new ones! Search Google News or other news sites for interesting, funny, odd, etc. current events, and post links to the article, along with a bit of introductory text to stir up discussion. "Favorite __________" , "post your __________" and similar threads also work. There's plenty to discuss out in the world. We just have to bring it here, which shouldn't really be all that hard if we use our heads.
